The Castle...
In the area is the Victorian stone mansion built by
B.R. Sherman in 1892. Called "The Castle" by
locals, it is constructed of granite cut by hand and
hauled by ox team and wagon from the Castle
Mountains southeast of White Sulphur. The Castle
is now a museum and open to visitors from May until
November. The Carriage House next door has a fine
display of antique buggies and carriages, and a gift shop featuring local crafts.
Winter Recreation...
The huge selection of winter sports to chose from
in our area is sensational. Only 30 miles to the north,
Showdown Ski Area offers a wide variety of
runs, from beginner through expert. With a reputation
for friendly service and short lift lines, Showdown is a
favorite ski destination for families and friends to get
together.
Silver Crest Nordic Trail System...
If it's Cross-Country Skiing you favor, then the
Silver Crest Nordic Trail System is for
you. It features over twelve kilometers of trails
groomed weekly; with terrain that varies from gently
rolling to moderately steep.
Kings Hill Snowmobiling System...
The Kings Hill area also offers spectacular
snowmobiling, with easy access to 200 miles of
groomed and marked trails. The Kings Hill
Snowmobiling System is considered to be
one of the finest snowmobile areas in Montana.
Spa Hot Springs...
Whatever winter fun you choose, be sure to come back to
the Spa Hot Springs for a relaxing soak. There's
nothing quite like thawing out again in our Naturally Heated
Mineral Pools. It's the perfect way to end the day.
An Outdoor Paradise...
White Sulphur Springs is surrounded
by three mountain ranges (Little Belt, Big Belt
and Castle Mountains) and is located at the
headwaters of the Smith River. The area has
unlimited year-round outdoor recreational
opportunities.
Smith River Canyon...
The Smith River is one of the country's
premier trout streams. A Smith River Canyon
float trip is a once in a lifetime experience.

antelope, bear or mountain lions.

The White Sulphur area has over half a
million acres of public land for Hiking and
Exploring. Numerous trails can take you into
remote areas where the scenery is spectacular
and unspoiled.
Fishing...
Less than an hour away there are
4 Reservoirs, 4 Mountain Lakes,
7 Campgrounds, the famous Smith
River, Brooke Trout Streams too
numerous to count, and miles and miles of
National Forest just waiting for you
to explore.
Yellowstone & Glacier Parks...
White Sulphur Springs located at
the junction of US 89 and US 12 is
halfway between Yellowstone and
Glacier Parks. It is a scenic drive
in all directions.
